That to experience a state of FLOW,
We need a high level of expertise and to learn to "LET GO."

Summary:
- Scientists studied the brains of 32 jazz musicians of different abilities while they improvised.
- The brain enters the creative flow state, aka: being “in the zone” when the musicians had more experience.
- Musicians had developed specialized brain networks to produce ideas with little conscious effort.
- The brain's executive control areas relaxed so that musicians entered the "flow state" more frequently and intensely.
Key take-aways:
- “Flow states can be attained by practice to build up expertise in a particular creative outlet coupled with training to withdraw conscious control when enough expertise has been achieved,” said Kounios. “This can be the basis for new techniques for instructing people to produce creative ideas.”
- Flow, or the effortless, enjoyable productivity, is a valued skill after by people in business, the arts, research, education and anyone else who wants to produce a stream of creative ideas and products.

Orchestrating Dreams students are trained as conductors because conductor-like leadership skills such as active listening, time management and flow leadership can have a huge impact on positive group flow in the work environment. Our students are training to become the future leaders in NYC and beyond.
