American Youth Orchestra (AYO) is an El Sistema-inspired orchestra in New York City that meets weekly to offer orchestral training to musicians ages 7-25. Graduates have been accepted to prestigious music schools like Mannes, Rutgers, NYU, Queens College, Bard College, and music programs such as the Juilliard School of Music, Interlochen Arts Camp, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
AYO is tuition-free for all its participants. Each year we distribute over $60,000 in scholarships for students to receive instruments, lessons and orchestral training. Our staff is bilingual in English and Spanish and our music repertoire includes music from Latin-America as well as Classical music.
AYO offers two level orchestras and meets on Saturdays between the times of 1:00 pm-5:30 pm. Fill out our form and one of our staff members will get in touch with you shortly.
